AUA remarks

Best of AUA 2019 Annual Meeting Saudi Arabia

On behalf of the American Urological Association (AUA), it is my pleasure to welcome attendees to the 4th Annual AUA/SUA: Best of AUA 2019 Annual Meeting in Riyadh. I am sorry that I am unable to attend this year’s meeting in person, but the AUA is honored to have once again partnered with the Saudi Urological Association (SUA) to bring this dynamic program to The Kingdom. An excellent group of faculty has been selected for this year’s program, which will feature a wide variety of lectures, case presentations, and key highlights from the AUA’s Annual Meeting and will cover a wide variety of topics in the management of urologic diseases.

AUA and SUA collaborations continue to expand and I would like to thank the SUA leadership for their dedication and commitment to Urology and for their leadership in guiding these collaborations on behalf of the SUA. The AUA greatly values the close friendship and collaborative partnership that has developed between our organizations and looks forward to continuing to work with the SUA to establish an educational bridge to sustain these collaborations long into the future.

Throughout my career as a Professor of Urology at Western University at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario, I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to train many urologic residents from Saudi Arabia. Through the efforts of the SUA and Saudi Commission for Health Sciences, it is clear that the future of Urology throughout The Kingdom is very bright. As the specialty of Urology continues to expand, collaborations between our organizations will have a positive impact upon urologic education and the quality of patient care not only in The Kingdom, but also throughout the Gulf region.

Sincerely yours,

John D. Denstedt, MD, FRCSC, FACS, FCAHS
